Outreach Tuition Provision
Updated Service Provision from September 2023
Connect2Education currently provides specialist teaching in homes for children and young people from Reception up to 18 years of age. A child or young person does not need to have an Education and Health Care Plan to access our service; our outreach tuition provision is commissioned directly via schools and local authorities or virtual schools.
Our qualified teachers provide one-to-one teaching in domestic and residential settings for children and young people who may have emotional-based anxiety around attending school. We also work with children and young people with learning difficulties. Our specialism is in working with children and young people who may have an autism diagnosis or who may be placed on a pathway to further assessment for ASC.
Our teachers produce individual education records for each lesson taught and summary assessment at the end of each half term which means that parents, carers and schools have a full record of what has been taught and how the child or young person has made progress.
This provision can also support information gathering prior to submission for statutory assessment. One-to-one tuition in a home or residential setting has proved successful in building engagement for children and young people who are in the process of transition to another full-time placement and waiting for a confirmation date.
Tuition Specialist Residential Settings:
This is a highly specialist package of provision for children and young people who have a significant level of need. We are aware that some children and young people will require 2:1 provision.
There may be additional resourcing or training costs with this package – once we have received your referral form, we can discuss full costs prior to booking.
For tuition in private homes, there is a separate safeguarding risk assessment that we will undertake prior to our staff entering a home. There is a separate charge for this risk assessment.
