Connect2Education provides alternative education for children and young people with additional needs. Our centre classrooms and study areas offer a safe, friendly environment for children to reconnect with their academic learning in a quiet, purposeful atmosphere.
We understand that for some children and young people, returning to education in a busy school environment can feel overwhelming, particularly for those with neurodiverse needs who may need a quiet place to work with a consistent routine. This does not mean that we do not encourage students to try new things!
This is why, at the start of 2020 we were excited to draw up plans for an additional offer of calm kitchen space for our students to engage in creativity and develop the confidence that comes with trying new skills. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, our plans were put on ‘hold’.
In 2022, we were delighted to receive a grant from Hambleton and District Council to put towards our kitchen project and make it a reality!
Now the teachers at Connect2Education can offer sessions in creative recipes, cooking meals for the family, and learning about nutrition and important life skills.
